Prokofiev Concert Hall of the Chelyabinsk Philharmonic.
The life and work of Oleg Mityaev is closely tied with the Chelyabinsk Philharmonic; he was invited to work there in 1985, and in 2020 the singer’s audio album recorded with the Chelyabinsk Symphony Orchestra was presented here. Despite its age, the building has been excellently preserved and renovated both externally and internally. Although the concert hall there isn’t the largest, it still offers excellent acoustics, a magical stage, and a generally pleasant atmosphere. The Philharmonic’s repertoire is varied and interesting, and after the concert you can enjoy a walk along Kirovka, which starts from the Philharmonic Hall steps.
The Chelyabinsk Philharmonic is close to the stop of the Historical Museum, and is also easily accessible from the Opera House stop.
Oleg Mityaev also dedicated the song Annushka to events related to the Odigitrievsky nunnery (Church in honour of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow”).
This nunnery is located in the Leninsky district near the Kopeyskoye highway, next to the Devichy Tears pond. The monastery existed in Chelyabinsk from 1861 till 1921, then it was closed and destroyed. The current construction is the successor of the former convent, and it opened only recently, in October 2015. It’s the only nunnery in the city. Next to the nunnery there is a pleasant park and a pond, where many citizens like to spend their free time strolling. The monastery building is in excellent condition and stands out from the surrounding architecture. You can also get to the monastery and the surrounding park by public transport; it is located on Energetikov Street.
